Tarmac Driveways & Paths

Why get a Tarmac Driveway?

First of all, we can all agree that tarmac driveways look visually appealing, but that’s not their only benefit. Tarmac driveways are also extremely durable and easy to maintain, a properly installed tarmac driveway can last a minimum of 15 years.

Getting a tarmac driveway is very practical. Tarmac is very smooth yet grippy, hence why it is used for most roads. This means that a tarmac driveway is reliable in any weather and you can be sure that your car won’t be slipping any time soon.

How long does a tarmac driveway take?

Again, the size will affect the time your tarmac driveway will take. If you are installing a 20m2 single tarmac driveway, then it should only take between 1 & 2 days but if it is around 80m2, you could expect around 4 to 5 days. Although, there are a few more factors to take into consideration.

These factors include:

Preparation

Preparation is key to ensuring that your tarmac driveway is done right. This doesn’t mean it should take days, however it is worth allowing leeway, so you are not rushing the job and ultimately affecting the quality. Preparation can also include things such as: any excavation work, laying foundations and securing drainage systems.

Landscaping

If you need any additional landscaping work done during or after the tarmacking, this will affect the length of the job. This could include installing a dropped kerb or adding new features to your tarmac driveways aesthetic.
